Bradley Manning transferred to Kansas

Military authorities recently announced
that Bradley Manning, accused of releasing documents exposing U.S.
war crimes and other violations of sovereignty to WikiLeaks, has been
transferred to Leavenworth prison, Kansas. He is no longer in
solitary confinement. Manning was originally imprisoned at the
Quantico Marine base in Virginia after being arrested last August.

Bradley Manning has been subjected to
deplorable conditions and psychological torture, prompting
international condemnation of the U.S. government. Multiple
demonstrations have been held demanding freedom for Bradley Manning,
including a march in Quantico, Va., on March 20.

Not only is the treatment of Manning
outrageous, the entire premise of his detention is extremely
hypocritical. Bradley Manning is in prison while the criminals he
allegedly exposed are free. The diplomatic cables, the “collateral
murder” video and other materials released by WikiLeaks show the
true face of imperialism and are of great service to oppressed people
around the world
