Hillary Rodham Clinton was the first secretary of state (Jan. 21, 2009 – Feb. 1, 2013) under President Barack Obama. The fancy title means that Clinton was the “go-to” adviser for Obama on who to maim and kill in other countries.
Clinton visited more countries during her tenure than any other secretary of state in U.S. history—112 in all. More than Madeleine Albright who thought “the price was worth it” to kill a half a million Iraqi children.
Her war crime track record is equally as extensive.
Right after taking office, Hillary Clinton oversaw the firing of five drone attacks on the village of Hasu Khel in Pakistan. The 19 people killed were civilians, including children.
Hillary Clinton can give a detailed accounting of the events for her discounted “university” rate of $300,000. Or ask Faheem Qureshi to tell the same story—like he did at the UN Human Rights Council. His relatives and neighbors were all killed when a drone targeted the home of Mohammad Khaleel, a retired schoolteacher, during a gathering. Faheem, after extensive surgeries, is among the few survivors.
This is just one of dozens of drone attacks under Clinton’s reign.
Clinton didn’t dream up her “smart power” strategy just to destroy villages in Pakistan. She traveled extensively in Africa, the Middle East, Eastern Europe and elsewhere to expand the influence of U.S. imperialism and “partner” with those who deemed this hegemony legitimate.
Clinton was the sort of secretary of state that would just roll up her sleeves and promote democracy. Like the $3 trillion destruction of Libya that has left that country in ruins. The Libyan Jamahiriya was once a stable government that lifted the people of Libya from poverty. The country’s constant instability in the wake of the NATO bombing and assassination of its leadership has destroyed Africa’s wealthiest country.
It was through a request under the Freedom of Information Act by the Washington Post that brought to light the wheeling and dealing of Hillary Clinton and her lucrative speaking tours. An e-mail exchange between the University of California Los Angeles and the 2016 likely presidential candidate revealed that $300,000 is the discounted rate for war criminals like Hillary Clinton to speak in a public forum.
Since Clinton stepped down as secretary of state nearly two years ago, she has made dozens of paid appearances. She prefers industry conventions and Wall Street banks, but she does offer a six-figure discount rate for the few university engagements. There are specifications for her backstage crudités and ice water, too.
Hillary Clinton does not deserve a cent to tell her version of murder. Clinton is a war criminal and must face these charges with all the others who have come before her who have dominated, maimed and killed in the name of U.S. hegemony, in the name of profit.
It’s almost certain that Faheem Qureshi and thousands of others from all over the world would be happy to testify.
