“A sharp analysis of historic and current events in the struggle for Palestine—from the division of the Middle East by Western powers and the Zionist settler movement, to the founding of Israel and its regional role as a watchdog for U.S. interests, to present-day conflicts and the prospects for a just resolution.”

Dear supporter of the PSL,

There is a reason that Glenn Beck has devoted so much coverage to attacking the PSL and the specter of a new, dynamically growing socialist organization in the United States. The right-wing media is trying to demonize our movement precisely because it is growing.

2010 has been a year of struggle. The capitalist ruling class has done its best to keep workers and poor people flat on their backs. Budget cuts, layoffs, tuition hikes, rising prices, endless war and occupation abroad … and so much more.

But people aren’t taking it lying down—they are standing up and fighting back. And the Party for Socialism and Liberation is helping to lead the way. Click here to make a donation to help the PSL continue its important work.

We are writing to let you know about some the highlights of 2010 for the PSL and ask your support to help continue our forward momentum as we head into a new year of struggle.

  • Through mass demonstrations, pickets, community organizing projects, political campaigns, conferences and meetings, the PSL has expanded its size and work over the past year. We now have members in nearly 30 U.S. states.
  • In November, the PSL organized a National Conference on Socialism in Los Angeles, bringing together over 500 people to discuss how to build the working-class movement. It was a major step forward for the PSL and the struggle for socialism in the United States. At the conference, Robert King Wilkerson, the only member of the Angola 3 out of prison, said of the PSL: “The old adage that faith, hope, and whatever else you may have can move mountains, well, it can, but faith and hope is the power of the people. I have faith in all of you.”
  • Liberation Newspaper in color
  • 2010 also ushered in a new aesthetic for Liberation, the biweekly newspaper of the PSL. It transformed from an excellent socialist news source printed in black and white into a superb publication printed in full color. More contributors have been trained to write for Liberation—from working people to students, all telling their stories and the stories of their class, and presenting incisive political analysis from a Marxist perspective.
  • The PSL organized a national book tour by Richard Becker, author of the PSL publication “Palestine, Israel and the U.S. Empire,” that included more than 100 events in 20 states and Canada.
  • The PSL also just published a new book, “The Program of the PSL: Socialism and Liberation in the United States.”
  • Day-in, day-out, the PSL organizes and participates in numerous struggles against imperialism, war, racism, exploitation and environmental destruction, in defense of labor, immigrant, women’s and LGBT rights, and in solidarity with all those around the world resisting the Empire.
