Cuba graduates 3,907 doctors from all over the world

Over 3,907 national and international physicians were graduated in simultaneous acts throughout the country, with a main ceremony at the Victoria De Giron Medical Institute.

graduating, terming the school emblematic for the history of this humanitarian profession in the country.

In the recently concluded 2005-2006 academic year, 1,593 foreign students from 26 nations and 2,314 Cubans concluded their medical studies, in which they received solid training in the country’s 21 medical schools.

About 451 Cuban doctors and 588 from the second graduation of the Latin American School of Medicine received their certificates in the Victoria de Giron medical institute’s ceremony.

Balaguer, also member of the Political Bureau of the Cuban Communist Party, expressed strength by President Fidel Castro, top promoter in training physicians and in the development of the country’s health programs.
