North Korea should also receive heavy fuel and other concessions if the United States sticks to its end of the bargain. The deal, which follows a high-profile visit by U.S. envoy Christopher Hill, could give some breathing room for North Korea.


Although North Korea poses no military threat, the United States has used aggressive economic strangulation to stop North Korea from developing the means for nuclear self-defense. The ultimate goal of the U.S. imperialists is the overthrow of North Korean socialism.


The United States is the only country to have used nuclear weapons against another country. Although an attack never materialized, President Eisenhower authorized the use of nuclear weapons against North Korea in 1953.
