U.S.-India nuclear deal reveals hypocrisy

The United States and India have reached breakthrough in nuclear cooperation negotiations, which will give India access to U.S. nuclear fuel and equipment for the first time in 30 years once finalized.


The U.S. government’s attitude toward India reveals the hypocrisy of its orientation to Iran. The imperialists continue to threaten Iran for pursuing a civilian nuclear energy program, despite the fact that Iran is a signatory of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty and does not have nuclear weapons technology. India has not signed the NPT and exploded an atomic bomb in 1974.


Washington considers India a strategically important partner against China, while perceiving Iran’s insistence on self-determination as a threat to its dominance in the Middle East.
