U.S.-led raid kills six civilians in Afghanistan

U.S.-led military forces raided a village on March 19 in the Khost Province of Afghanistan, near the border with Pakistan. Six civilians, including a woman and two children, were killed during the early morning raid.

Village residents filled the streets at day break with chants denouncing the offensive and U.S. president George Bush. They have refused to bury the victims until an explanation for the killings is provided.

This is the latest of numerous raids carried out recently in Afghanistan. Just days before, a British air strike killed four civilians in another village.

U.S. officials blamed “militants” for the deaths. This imperialist lie is meant to hide the brutality of the U.S.-led colonial occupation of Afghanistan.
