Norman Finkelstein denied entry into Israel

Norman Finkelstein, a Jewish-American professor and author, was refused entry into Israel on May 23 for “security reasons.” The ban will be in effect for the next 10 years.

On arriving at the Ben Gurion International Airport in Tel Aviv, Finkelstein was met and questioned by Shin Bet, Israel’s counterintelligence and security service. He was then kept in a holding cell for 24 hours before being deported to the United States.

Finkelstein, the son of holocaust survivors, has been an outspoken critic of Israel’s racist policies and treatment of Palestinians. In his book “The Holocaust Industry,” he criticizes many in the Jewish community for exploiting the holocaust during World War II to continue the brutal occupation of Palestine.

In 2007, Finkelstein was denied tenure and forced to resign from DePaul University in Chicago after a Zionist campaign was launched against him.
