Audio: Jahi Rose on the Brooklyn struggle against police abuse

Click here to listen to an audio recording of a speech by Jahi Rose, a community activist in Brooklyn. Rose spoke at a PSL meeting in New York City on July 13 about the Brooklyn community’s fight back against a recent case of police harassment and illegal arrest. On May 21, police arrested 32 Black and Latino high school students, who were on their way to a wake. The students were searched without provocation, and although nothing illegal was found, they were charged with disorderly conduct. Since the arrests, the arrested youth and their allies have been holding protests and other events to organize against police abuse. Rose has been active in the campaign since it began in late May.
